Standard document set
- Proforma invoice (PI) — issued before payment, used to confirm the order and to arrange the transfer.
- Commercial invoice — issued with the shipment, matching the contract and the Bill of Lading.
- Certificate of Origin (COO) — issued by the competent Chinese authority, used to claim preferential or standard duty treatment at destination.
- Bill of Lading (B/L) — original and telex release options, issued by the shipping line.
- Packing list — listing the unit(s) shipped, dimensions and weights.
- Insurance policy — where insurance is arranged through us.
Vehicle-specific documents
New vehicles are delivered with the factory certificate of conformity and the accompanying documentation issued for that unit. Where a vehicle needs additional certificates for the destination market, we will tell you before you order what we can and cannot supply.
What may be required at your end
Import licences, customs declarations, duty and tax payments, homologation, registration, emissions and safety approvals are the responsibility of the buyer and are governed by the law of the destination country. We can point you to the usual requirements and share documents, but we cannot guarantee that a vehicle will be registrable in a specific market. Please confirm local rules before ordering.
Corrections and consignee details
Please check the consignee name, address and contact details on the proforma invoice carefully. Changes after the Bill of Lading is issued may be impossible or chargeable. Document errors caused by inaccurate buyer information may incur amendment fees.
